Love NCT’s Music But Don’t Get The Concept? Read This Guide For Each Unit

NCT is the largest Kpop boy group with 23 members and they have no plans on limiting how many members will be added to the group. If you are wondering how a group that large performs together, then the answer is that they don’t all appear on stage at the same time.

Here is what else you need to know:

1. The Korean boy group named NCT is actually an acronym for Neo Culture Technology. The term is used to be a sign that this group could have an infinite number of members.

2. As of 2020, NCT is made up of: Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Kun, Doyoung, Ten, Jaehyun, Winwin, Jungwoo, Lucas, Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, Jisung, Xiao Jun, Yang Yang, Hendery, Shotaro, and Sungchan.

3. Currently, there are 5 subunits of NCT. Each subunit is unique because they have their own concept, separate from the rest of the group. The purpose of having smaller groups under the large umbrella of NCT is in alignment with NCT’s "limitless" theme and so they can cater to a wider range of audiences.

4. The idea of NCT is that not only can they have unlimited members, they are not confined to one subunit as intended. This allows the members to freely transfer subunits depending on the song, the energy and even the city in which the song takes place. Here are the subunits and the image of each of them:

  • NCT U - NCT U is the first unit to come from NCT and the U stands for unity. There are no permanent members.
